As a youngster, my game was about walking up to the ball and trying to hit it as hard and as far as I possibly could. When I connected, the shots were great, but the misses (of which there were many) were terrible!
My coach encouraged me to practice and play a few times in my regular trainers instead of my golf shoes. After slipping and missing, I quickly learned to swing more easily and smoothly, resulting in a sweet strike every time.

Sign your children up for the new six-week long Junior Golf Programme at the Royal Golf Club where they will learn all the basics of golf as well as making new friends and getting some fresh air and exercise.
Classes are open to children of all ages and abilities and start on Friday and Saturday, March 4 & 5. It costs BD60 per child and includes tuition, use of the driving range and all equipment. To sign up, call the academy on 17750777 ext. 302.
