TEENAGE sensation Mohammed Hamad Al Aathem showed the sport’s golden oldies how to do it with a swashbuckling display of golfing prowess on one of the kingdom’s most challenging sand courses.

More than 100 Awali Golf Club members participated in the Schlumberger Trophy on Friday, with favourable playing conditions resulting in the course playing to par.

The Schlumberger Trophy went to Al Aathem, 14, with 85 gross, 66 net. Overall runner-up was David Bailey with 79 gross, 67 net. The Medal winner was Diab Al Noaimi with a 73 gross.

First place for flights 1, 2 and 3 were Rashed Ahmed Abdulla with 74 gross, 68 net, Bronson John with 85 gross, 69 net, and Luke Taylor with 91 gross, 67 net respectively.

Second place for flights 1, 2 and 3 were Abdulla Sultan Faraj with 77 gross, 68 net, Abdulla Al Hajji with 80 gross, 69 net, and Jonathan Jane with 90 gross, 68 net respectively.

Side prizes for nearest-the-pin went to Susan Scott, Abdulla Sultan Farj, Dong Jin Jeong and Paul McLean.

The prize-giving ceremony in the clubhouse was well attended with the sponsors providing a tasty meal and a generous prize table.
