The American Mission Hospital held its Annual Gala Dinner at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa on Thursday evening to honour more than 40 organisations for their support towards this year’s Island Classic golf tournament.
The prestigious event concluded the successful annual golfing extravaganza which raised BD70,000 towards the not-for-profit hospital’s community outreach programmes and service improvements.
Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, the three-day tournament was staged on his private golf course in Saffriya. The Premier Flight was won by the Ministry of Interior and the Championship Flight by E K Kanoo 2.
Dr George Cheriyan, AMH’s chief medical officer and CEO, said: “We have successfully concluded the 20th AMH Island Classic charity golf tournament. The event which was held from November 23 to 25 saw more than 45 sponsors and independent teams competing.
“We came together at the Diplomat to recognise the sponsors who play such an important role in making this event possible. All our hard work and effort would not amount to anything without the support of our kind benefactors.”
Dr George presented mementoes to each of the supporters after dinner guests were treated to dancing performances by members of Bahrain Ballet Centre, joined by children of AMH staff members.
