Whilst overlooked by the majority of golfers due to familiarity or complacency good course management is vital in scoring better. Below are three tips to improve your course management.
Be aware of the pin and flag
Pay attention to flag locations and gauge prevailing wind to determine whether you need to adjust any shot plans.
Play to your ability
Whether you are in trouble or in the fairway, play the shot you are most comfortable playing. Don’t try the miracle shot if you have not practiced it. It will likely end in a higher score.
Switch up your clubs where necessary
A driver may not be the best choice, so if you have more control with a 3 wood, for example, it may be worth switching up clubs to set up a better second shot.
