ABSTRACT artist Ella Prakash will unveil her views on an ever-changing world through the use of bright colours and expressive brush strokes featured in her latest collection which will be showcased in South-East Asia on Friday.

The Bahrain-based Indian painter, who has captivated art lovers with her fashion accessories and colourful canvases, will feature 14 oil pieces titled A Change – Transformation at the Singapore Jewellery & Gems and Art & Lifestyle Exhibition.

“As it’s my first solo exhibition in Singapore. I’m very much excited about it,” said Ella who lives in Segaiya. “A Change – Transformation is a totally new dimension of series from my previous one. The technique and medium was quite challenging to use to express the story behind each art work but I believe that I have successfully interpreted the message in this collection.”

Ella, who has wowed art critics around the globe with solo exhibitions in the UK, the US, Germany, as well at home in India and Bahrain, has more than 14 years of experience in abstract and figurative art. She has also always been a supporter of women empowerment and has depicted strong female figures in her work.

“An artist has the tools to create. Just like life in a womb, the canvas is the divine power that preserves the sacred language of the artist’s perspective,” she said.

“The cosmos is constantly changing and so is every tiny being that is a part of it. In us lies a conscience that grows and bends and moulds itself into an entity that the energies we create influence.

“This collection reflects that growth. When one embraces the curve balls that life throws at us and takes that to create an energy that reflects the choices we make then the process of transforming is initiated. This change and subtle growth and depletion are never visible but our aura will always carry a reflection of it and this is never constant.”

Ella used bold brush strokes as well as the palette knife to add vibrant hues in the making of this series for a new explosive look.

The exhibition will run in Singapore until Monday and fans in Bahrain will be able to see more of the work on display from November 22 to 24 at her Ella Art Gallery in Adliya.

Ella has set up her own foundation and is an ambassador for Arts for India. As reported in GulfWeekly, she unveiled her lifestyle and fashion creations, entitled Ella Impressions, at London’s Debut Contemporary Art Gallery a couple of years ago to compliment luxury lifestyle and home-ware designer Claire Gaudion’s latest offerings. Her artwork has also been used for cushion decorations and other products such as shoes, scarves and bow ties.
