Ola Källenius, the new chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz Cars is set to present his outlook on the future of the brand next month at the 2019 International Motor Show (IAA) along with several new developments.

The event, which will be held in Frankfurt from September 10 to 22, will feature a stand for the German auto maker highlighting the world premiere of a new showcar as well as celebrating Mercedes me Media’s two year anniversary.

This year’s focus will be dedicated on presenting sustainable solutions for the future of mobility and the stand has been completely redesigned for this purpose making it more conceptually oriented towards customers.

Before the first press day, invited guests and journalists will receive an exclusive look at the innovations during “Meet Mercedes” evening event. It will also include a workshop programme.

Meanwhile, visitors will be able to admire the new showcar which embodies the flexible, customer-oriented and sustainable vision of the product and technology brand Mercedes-Benz EQ.

Mercedes-Benz has also teamed up with SXSW (South by Southwest) to stage the 2019 me Convention in Frankfurt around the same time.

The annual event, which is held from September 11 to 13, brings together thousands of people exploring major issues and promising ideas for society, business, science and the planet. You’ll walk away with new perspectives, concrete ways to build a better future and a brand-new tribe of collaborators. This year’s programme is a ‘future lab’ with confirmed speakers including Laura Dekker, the youngest person to sail around the globe alone and surfer Léa Brassy. In their talks, they will share their personal experiences of pushing boundaries. In another duo talk, international filmmakers Martha Fiennes and Gulrukh Khan will offer insight into the possibilities that artificial intelligence (AI) opens up for the future of film. And for those who want to know more about one of the world’s most successful television series, director Jeanie Finlay and special effects expert Delroy Reid will reveal behind-the-scenes secrets. The documentary Game of Thrones - The Last Watch about the making of this epic show was recently nominated for an Emmy.
