The Gulf Hotel Convention & Spa unveiled its newly-renovated Gulf Convention Centre with a spectacular show on Sunday evening featuring live musicians and singers in a high-tech visual and sound extravaganza.
A huge investment has been made to transform the facility into a state-of-the-art 4,780sqm redesigned arena, including 13 meeting and conference rooms, event space as well as a setting for stunning wedding and henna night celebrations.
The aim, say its designers, was to enhance the offering with luxury while combining natural charm and elegance.
Delight GM Fares Yactine said: “The Gulf Convention Centre is now the most iconic destination for any large event or conference, as well as a much desired venue for weddings in the kingdom, in my opinion. Not only does the new facility feature a stunning contemporary design but we have also introduced state-of-the-art advanced technology to complement what the new centre has to offer guests.”
Taking centre stage of the renovation was the installation of five 4m x 3m digital HD screens. They can run videos displaying high resolution images, with surround sound to match.
Even the stunning crystal chandeliers add to the over-all ambience by completely changing colours at the touch of an electronic pad, depending on the mood of the event, with variations in tone too for stylish effect.
The new video wall screens can also provide cost effective visual themes and transformative opportunities for event or conference organisers.
To further complement the technological improvements, the ballrooms and pre-function foyers have been tastefully transformed with elegant interiors featuring artfully-inspired lighting, wood surrounds and marble finishes.
Guests at the launch ceremony witnessed some of the visual treats possible with video cameras capturing the musicians playing on the floor in creatively-lit costumes and performing on the balcony above – all showing live and combined on the big screens.
For an encore a model bride strode out on to the ballroom floor to stunning effect wearing a gown made for the occasion by Tubli-based Sumayas Design.
Guests were then treated to a taste of the cuisine available for special occasions created by the venue’s many award-winning chefs and delivered with sparkling service. Fares is convinced it’s a winning combination and the start of a new chapter in The Gulf Hotel Convention & Spa’s long-running success story.
