Gulf Weekly Italian Panda gets a facelift

The Fiat Panda, which is a city car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer, might be receiving a high-performance facelift with the concept launch of its first hot hatch vehicle.

The car, which has been around for nearly 40 years, had never gotten a hot hatch treatment before with the most powerful variant offering 100 horsepower from a straight-four 1.4ltr engine. It was launched in 2006 but discontinued when the third generation of the model debuted in 2011.

However, artist Matthew Parsons’ recent rendering has sped up the hatchback plan with his project named 200HP. It represents a spiritual successor to the 100HP but the virtual drawing proposes a radical design with wider wheel arches, lower stance and several tweaks to the body. The artist also added multi-spoke black alloys and an additional diffuser in the front bumper.

Although Fiat probably has no plans to launch the performance version soon, motoring experts are expecting to see a brand new Panda in the next few years.
