The 44th Interarab Cambist Association (ICA) Conference, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, is set to take place on October 24 and 25 to discuss and explore international and Gulf economy growth and its impact on financial services.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s representative of the ICA, chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the 44th ICA Conference, Abdulla Dawood, highlighted that “The two-day conference, held under the slogan “Reshaping Finance in a Changing Economy”, will tackle, through workshops and panel sessions, key topics that discuss the economic paradigm shift in the GCC.

Visions, statements and strategies launched by GCC governments in recent years that have outlined the future of economic diversification, productivity, and innovation will be explored. In addition, the impact of the ambitious fiscal reforms made across the region while changing the macro-level dynamics will be discussed too.

The discussion will cover the introduction of financial services within the FinTech revolution, highlighting the emerging industry and the opportunities it creates for Islamic finance.

The conference will also outline the strength of the global economy a decade after the global financial crisis, commitment to globalisation and economic openness, and the initial success that has given way to a more dynamic monetary policy. The fourth panel of the conference will discuss the future of energy in the Middle East and the challenges it faces when regarding dependency of oil returns on its balance sheet. It will also discuss the importance of OPEC members to regroup as an effective force.

Keynote speakers will include international political leaders, central bank governors, CEOs, chief economists and senior bankers who will share their experiences and insights into the financial and economic fields.

Chairman of the organising committee
