MINIMAL: Skincare routines are going strong this season

While many organisations are gradually reverting to in-person operations, there are still some offices and educational institutions that continue to run online. These smart style ideas, based on the latest Spring-Summer trends, are sure to make an impression at your next online meeting.

If you are working from home or attending virtual classes, it is rather tempting to roll out of bed and on to your desk. However, doing that for days on end can feel monotonous and uninspiring.

An easy way to boost your spirits is to rethink your virtual wardrobe – look polished from the waist up and yet make the most of being in the comfort of your home.

Sports Luxe

ATHELEISURE is the perfect balance between style and comfort, and has returned in a big way with brands focussed exclusively on the style opening shop in the kingdom.

“Chic sportswear has made a come back,” said Bahraini fashion designer Fatema Abdulaziz.

She recounted that it was also popular during the Covid-19 pandemic, when most of us were working from home.

If you’re looking for inspiration, bright coloured rugby tops and polo tees were spotted on the Spring-Summer 2026 fashion runways.

Hair apparent

YOUR mane has the power to make or break your look. In these sombre times, you deserve a pick-me-up – a fresh cut, some colour or simply a classic, lived-in 90’s blowout. Soft bobs, romantic pixies and other iconic 90’s hairstyles are making a massive comeback this summer. Keeping with the vibe, gel styling for men has returned in a big way so, slick it back or work those ‘romantic’ curls to get the mics unmuted.

Sweet prints

BOTANICAL patterns for spring are a given but this season calls for going bold with the blooms – think retro florals and baroque inspirations. Designers are also leaning towards polka dots and soft animal prints like fawn spots, both of which can effortlessly add character to any look. Patterns are becoming a manifesto of boldness in men’s fashion too – stripes, ethnic prints, Boho aesthetics, warped graphics and argyle to name a few.

Scarf it down

THE fashion runways are awash with this versatile accessory, featuring striking prints and bold colours. “Pastels and fresh tones are in,” fashion enthusiast Stafney Fernandes from Seef District told GulfWeekly, highlighting the seasonal colour palette.

“However, people are also going for rich colours like cherry red and green glow,” added the 22-year-old. The Indian expatriate has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Huddersfield University in the UK, specialising in fashion creative direction.

Suitable for men and women, scarves can elevate your look in seconds. Drape them as a top, knot them at the neck or wrap them over the shoulder to ‘stand out’ as you sit down.

Bling thing

STATEMENT beads, layered necklaces, bold pendants and sculptural earrings are trending. Fashion enthusiasts are gravitating toward brooches - no longer a ‘mature’ style.

Fatema noted that despite rising gold prices, women in the kingdom and region have been heavily investing in the metal.

“They like to wear it during their Zoom meetings,” added the 51-year-old from Diyar Al Muharraq.

The boutique owner has 12 years professional styling experience and has worked on numerous shows, her latest being the Netflix banger Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, which was partly shot in Bahrain.

Multitasking tints

USING just one product for the lips, cheeks and lids is growing in popularity, as women no longer have the patience to deliberate in front of a mirror.

Cloud lips with soft, blurry edges are in.

Oranges in tones of peach, coral, and rose are dominating vanity kits.

Stafney concurred noting that soft blush tones are popular this season.

“Effortless, fresh looks are trending and glowy skin is on the rise,” she added, nodding to the growing influence of minimalist skincare routines.

In fact, many are shifting toward hybrids like serum foundations and glow-boosting formulas that make you look natural but radiant.
