NON-FICTION science poetry book The Edge of Space-Time by Chanda Prescod-Weinstein has hit the shelves.
Guided by her conviction that science is for everybody, the
verses tackle some of the most abstract concepts of theoretical physics, and
tell fascinating stories about the fundamental quantum nature of space-time and
everything inside of it.
A number of fundamental concepts about the early universe,
including the quantum cat theory, the difference between dark matter and dark
energy, the inner workings of black holes and the possibility of a unified
theory of quantum gravity have been creatively explored.
The narrative connects what may seem as complex scientific
concepts to everyday life, poetry and pop culture, including American composer
and poet Sun Ra, known for his experimental music, cosmic philosophy and
theatrical performances.
“The universe is almost 14 billion years old, but my book is
one of its latest manifestations,” Chanda said in a social media post.
“This book is about how understanding our cosmos is poetic
work, and it is powerful knowledge that will change you. It’s for everyone of
all ages, whether you’re terrified of math or love it,” added the theoretical
cosmologist and particle physicist at New Hampshire University.
