Global pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter will release her seventh studio album titled Man’s Best Friend tomorrow, August 29, writes Reid Huliganga.
The project drops not too long after the first anniversary of Short n’ Sweet, which skyrocketed her into the limelight last summer. Espresso, on the album, earned her two Grammy Awards that year and several other accolades.
Man’s Best Friend was made spontaneously after the creative talent’s choice to continue writing and collaborating with record producers Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen.
The album will have four cover variants, including one that features a bonus track Such A Funny Way, only available on vinyl.
Her latest musical endeavour was ‘not made with the intention of one-upping her previous album’.
“I think it’s a celebration of those who let you down,” Jack said in an interview.
The album was first teased by the singer with the release of Manchild on June 5, the lead single, which charted at number one in places like Ireland, the UK, and the US.
When asked about the project by Rolling Stone and why she was dropping it now, the two-time Grammy winner explained that she was at that point in her career where, if she’s inspired to write and make something new, she would rather take that chance than wait three years.
The artist also told the magazine that she wasn’t too worried about the expectations people had as the album was still under wraps.
“I cannot care for it, because I’m just so excited,” Sabrina said.
The 26-year-old popstar started out as a child actor starring in several movies and shows, most notably, Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World (2012) and Eyes Wide Open (2015).
