A posthumous collection of newly discovered writings by Harper Lee, has hit the shelves.

The Land of Sweet Forever features never-before-seen short stories alongside published nonfiction by the late writer, who passed away in 2016, offering a look at the development of her unique literary voice.

The writer’s career took a defining turn with the publication of her debut novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, in 1960.

The new release tackles many subjects, including conversations about travel, love, fiction and art and what it means to lead a creative life.

It is claimed to have been written after Harper dropped out of law school, a semester away from completing her degree, in order to chase her dreams of becoming a writer.

In a recent interview with Harper’s nephew Edwin Lee and niece Molly Lee, they praised their aunt and expressed excitement towards the new stories seeing the light of day.

“I knew there were unpublished stories, I had no idea where the manuscripts of those stories were,” Edwin said.

The works were discovered in one of the writer’s New York City apartments after she passed.

“I think it’s interesting to see how her writing evolved and how she worked on her craft, even I can tell how she improved,” Molly said, adding that she is ‘very pleased’ they have been found.
