ENGLISH musician Ringo Starr will drop his 22nd studio album Long Long Road tomorrow.
It is The Beatles drummer’s third country and Americana album, following Beaucoups of Blues (1970) and Look Up (2025).
The ensemble will feature guest appearances from musicians, including Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, St Vincent, Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz, and is Ringo’s second project in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett.
In an interview, Ringo revealed how he reunited with T Bone in a book event, where he asked the producer to write him a song, which ended up as a full-length project.
“He came into town and we sat around and I thought, ‘oh, maybe he could produce an album on me’,” the English musician recounted.
“I said, ‘Well, how many songs have we got?’ And he had them in his pocket – nine.”
In response, T Bone noted: “Ringo invited me to write a song for him, and look what happened. I wrote a good long song for him.
“It is tremendous fun to write for his voice, for his spirit. He is one of the most recognisable voices in the world, so his voice is in your head with every word you write. It becomes very easy. It is like guide rails that you can just chase, to follow down a path.”
