The Mera Bharat Mahaan competition, otherwise known as a patriotic song contest being held to mark India's Independence Day is being held by the Kasaragod District Pravasi Association-Bahrain (KDPA) at 6.30pm at the Priyadarshini Hall in the South Park restaurant in Manama on August 6. With Al Hilal Hospital and Al Ansu Trading as the event's main sponsors; registration for the competition is free to all Indian expatriate clubs, organisations and individuals, but must be before the July 30 deadline. The songs, assessed by a panel of judges, can be in any Indian language and singers have the option of being accompanied by a three-piece live orchestra.
