Gulf Weekly Redesigned model looks to add new chapter

The Toyota Hilux has had a radical redesign for 2016 and the marque is confident that it will add a new chapter in the illustrious history of one of the world’s most popular pick-ups as it enters its eighth generation.

The model was officially launched at a media event attended by dealer Ebrahim K Kanoo’s senior management and Toyota officials at its showroom in Sitra.

The Hilux has been completely redesigned, and designers say that the focus has been on creating an occupant-focused experience. New features include an enlarged cross-rail section to improve comfort and safety, a new suspension system to enhance off-road driving, and superior fuel efficiency compared to previous models.

Options for the Hilux include either a single-cab or double-cab setup, while there are choices between 2WD and 4WD, petrol or diesel engines, and an option for either manual or automatic transmission.
