Bahrain national team member Ali Al Kowari shot an impressive 40 points, his first under par round ever in a competition, in round 5 of the Audi Quattro Cup Series held recently at Royal Golf Club. Steve Hill came in second place with an equally impressive 37 points.
With just one round left, on Friday, May 11, Hamad Afnan managed to keep his place at the top of the overall standings on 139 points.
Mohamed Al Sayed is currently second with 136 points with Jason Smith and Rehman Tipu in a tie for third on 135 points.
These four players will play together in the final round, battling it out for first or second place in the series which will see them go on to represent Audi Centre Bahrain in the Audi Quattro Cup Final which will be held at the Golf Club Schwarzsee in Kitzbühel, Austria, in September.
With more than 100,000 players competing in 750 tournaments in 54 countries annually, the event has developed into the biggest worldwide amateur golf series.
