Gulf Weekly New mall starting to be fitted out

Details of a new concept mall set to include state-of-the-art facilities and entertainment centres for all age groups have been further outlined.

The Mall of Dilmunia, designed by DP Architects, the same designers of the Dubai Mall in the UAE, will consist of three stories and provide an ‘al fresco dining experience’ overlooking a canal.

The BD52m mall, first highlighted in GulfWeekly in 2017, will include four themed entertainment centres and a huge cylindrical aquarium, as well as an open-air sky terrace. It will also boast ‘the largest atrium in Bahrain’ that can be used for events, as well as the longest stretch in the GCC of a 100m LED screen ceiling.

The development has a targeted date to open its doors to the public in October.

The project from Dilmunia Mall Development Company, set to cost between BD12m to BD15m to fit out, is constructed on the man-made island of Dilmunia, located in the north-eastern coast of Muharraq. The company predicts it will create 3,000 associated jobs and boost tourism to the kingdom.
