Gulf Weekly Mai Al Khatib-Camille
By Mai Al Khatib-Camille

Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome coverage done for the Philippine School students and big thanks to Naman as well! The students are elated as it was their first time to be featured in the paper and the parents too are excited.

I think most of the shops in Manama ran out of GulfWeekly after it came out as I had parents calling me asking where else they could buy the paper.

Salamat as always for your support.

Regards,

Cristina

It has been a while since I wrote a newsy email. Things have been busy and we have a couple of exciting documentaries coming up which I will be writing about over the coming weeks/months. In the meantime, I wanted to share a couple of films with you.

Firstly a new music video, the first in a while. Something different and unusual, at least for me. I’m back to playing a regular classical guitar again. The video was created using seven cameras with five actors in a dark room, with my colleague Jody Peck.

Secondly – I worked on a short film featuring British actor Steve Stickley. Steve came to visit us in Bahrain last winter and the universal theme speaks for itself.

After almost a two-year break from music, I am back to playing guitar again so I am sure some project will materialise in the coming months, but for the moment I am enjoying playing for myself, which is much needed after years of ‘producing’ music. I am just enjoying ‘being in it’.

Wishing you a creative, productive, meaningful autumn and looking forward to hearing your news!
