Fashion lover Reem Ahmed Abdulla set about creating her own colourful collection of clothes ... after receiving compliments about her style and grace, writes Mai Al Khatib-Camille.

She started with designing her own outfits for Eid and received such rave reviews it motivated her to follow her fashion dreams and launch her own line.

The 22-year-old, who is currently majoring in business management and minoring in marketing at University of Bahrain, said: “Since I was a child I have always admired dressing up elegantly and styling myself like a model at a fashion show.

“Most of my designs are inspired by nature and anything beautiful that catches my eye, such as flowers and bright, cheerful colours.

“When I’m doodling, sometimes the pencil colours inspire me. New design ideas constantly pop up in my mind and I simply set about drawing and creating them in real life. The designs are created from my imagination.”

Her @FashionByLeen Instagram account features dresses made by tailors in Bahrain using a range of fabrics including crepe, silk and cotton and is proving to be a social media sensation.

Her plans are to one day open her own boutique and create a following across the globe.
