Six out of 148 players who competed at the Sixth Qualifying Round of The Constance Belle Mare Plage Challenge Cup at Rolling Hills Golf Club, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, have qualified to play at the grand final on Saturday, 5th May.
The competition was played under sunny skies, moderate temperatures and a slight southerly breeze. The team of David Armstrong and Brian Clement secured the Men’s Gross place with a score of 72. Syed Rahman and Syed Sha scored 61 net that earned them the Men’s Net title. The Ladies Net was awarded to the team of Robin Fischer and Dianne Fuller who scored 61 Net.
This is the third year Rolling Hills Golf Club has participated in The Constance Belle Mare Plage Challenge Cup. Regular updates were received from Mauritius from club members, Gordon Rentz and Beatriz Niemeyer, who competed in the Mauritius Pro-AM in December 2005, raising the popularity of this event significantly.
The tournament culminates in the grand final, which will take place at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, the only 18-hole golf resort in the region. The lucky winners will win a trip to Mauritius for 10 days, flying with Emirates Airline and staying at the luxurious Constance Belle Mare Plage Resort, voted Golf Resort of the Year in 2004 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
