Hi Stan, The GulfWeekly looks great. Keep up the good work. Best regards Babu
Dear Stan, Thanks for putting a pic of The Queen and me in this week's GW! I'm sure my friends will be mightily impressed!!! Maeve
Dear Stan, Loved your new look GW, particularly ‘Remember When’ on page 41 with the picture of the roundabout on the Old Palace Road between Ashrafs and the Royal Hotel. I arrived in Bahrain in 1979 and that particular roundabout was nicknamed ‘Paradise’ roundabout, as next to the mosque was Paradise Restaurant, the 1979 Bahrain version of KFC, selling the most delicious grilled chicken, Arabic bread and salad at a price to suit a single girl’s purse. The restaurant is still in existence, but is now located at No.1 Government Avenue opposite the Sheraton Hotel. Your photograph rekindled memories of much needed sustenance after a Thursday night out on the town, or grabbing a quick lunch before siesta time to prepare for a night out on the town! Also in those days Ashraf’s had a supermarket on the ground floor and the Royal Hotel was considered a salubrious haunt to disco. How times have changed! Cheers Barbie
Dear Stan, Congratulations! I have had so many phone calls today telling me how great the article was in GW, and how much better the paper was in general. Thank you. Betsy
Dear Stan, Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! GulfWeekly seems better, smarter and more effective. A change in look and content has been successfully achieved! All the best to you - carry on the good work! Shama Uchil Communication and Brand Manager, Moevenpick Hotel Bahrain.
Dear Stan, I went to see Spiderman 3 at the cinema after reading your preview in last week’s GulfWeekly. It’s a fantastic film, with more great acting and super special effects than any other movie I have seen. In my opinion Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are the best partnership since Laurel and Hardy. The movie itself was quite believable and is obviously a serious contender for the Oscars.
