Gulf Weekly About The Culture Vultures

The Culture Vultures were formed in 2003 with a view to enhancing the cultural life of Bahrain.

Their aim has always been to provide cultural evenings of a reasonably elevated nature, presented in a highly engaging and entertaining manner.  These evenings have usually been hosted in private homes to small audiences and over the years have gained a loyal following.
Since their inception, they have hosted over 20 events including evenings of Shakespeare and instrumental music; opera, salsa, drama, history, poetry, fine art and various dance forms. They have also recently begun a series of ‘Culture for Kids’ events, presenting performances of Classical Music, Dance from around the World, Opera for Little Ears, Open Orchestral Rehearsals and most recently Percussion in the Park.
These have proved extremely popular and the Culture Vultures have expanded their committee to continue this series apace.  Other recent events have include O Fortuna, an art exhibition held in conjunction with the Manama Singers production of Carmina Burana, Classic Clarinet held at the Novotel al Dana Resort and the hugely popular Concertomania held at the Cultural Hall.
