Hi friends, Generally speaking, a university education is quite expensive all over the world.
While education at school level is free in many countries, the students themselves often have to bear the expenses of their higher education. Many students find it difficult to support their college fees and this may deprive them of reaching their full potential. In Western countries, there is an increasing trend in the students to combine study with work. In addition to having financial relief, they get an exposure to employment conditions and gain workplace confidence. (Moreover, they come to know about the value of their parents’ money, which they spend ruthlessly). There is a counter argument that the working students are not able to concentrate on their studies and their grades may suffer. However, getting lower grades is better than missing a college education altogether. I think that the universities and private companies should hire students in lighter jobs, especially during semester breaks or at weekends. By doing so, we can provide opportunities to all those who deserve it. Bye, Syeda Maria
