You don’t know me; I know you, I know what’s being said about you.
I’m the ‘whisperer’. I am socially mobile: Arab, Brit, Indian, Pakistani, American and the rest, they all invite me and share their world with me. Not much gets past me but if you think it may have done, email me on . . .
SMOKING can be bad for your health in more ways than one. A chain-smoking Bahrain photographer was flying down the highway on assignment when he decided to flick the ash out of his window. Unfortunately, the fiery tip of his cigarette flew back in and landed on his collar and proceeded to slowly roll down his back. The hapless snapper managed an excellent emergency stop on to the hard shoulder and was able to put himself out. It could have been worse … his back seat is piled high with old copies of GulfWeekly and those glossy monthly magazines which could have ignited in explosive fashion.
TOP marks to Gulf Air, Bahrain International Airport and, in particular, to the customs team at London’s Heathrow. Two teenage schoolgirls on their first solo trip to Bahrain visiting relatives had a safe and secure travelling experience thanks to the little bit of extra care and courtesy shown by officials. Too often newspapers only report stories when things go amiss, but the Whisperer is delighted to give credit where it is due. When the girls arrived back in Blighty a particularly kind customs officer insisted on accompanying the girls to their waiting parents – a nice touch and well appreciated.
