‘We need to talk’
Four little words that can send ice running through any red-blooded male’s veins! Any of you who have been in a relationship that has lasted more than two months, you will know that no good can come of these words.
What she actually means is that she needs to talk and you need to listen. Nine times out of 10 you’ve done something wrong and she needs you to know and do something about it. The other one time out of 10, she has done something wrong and needs you to set it right for her without betraying how angry with her you are. But whichever reason it turns out to be you’d better set it straight or you’ll be in the dog-house for a long time.
It’s worth remembering that “we need to talk” usually only comes as a warning to something seriously wrong and should not be simply dismissed as just another tantrum. “We need to talk” is also often used as a precursor to a break-up.
