Dear Betsy,
For the reader who asked where to buy carrot oil, I have found it difficult to get good quality essential oils in Bahrain but you can get them easily on the internet on several sites.

I have also found some in the pharmacy beside Al Osra (formerly Spinneys) supermarket in Saar, and almond oil can be bought in Al Jazeera supermarket. Hope this helps others. Can you recommend any oils for using at home in place of household cleaners?
Hanna.

Dear Hanna,
Thank you for sharing that with us. Just be sure that when you are purchasing them that they are PURE essential oils and not pre-blended in a base oil such as almond, jojoba or grapeseed as this will alter the dilutions and the therapeutic effects.
As for essential oils to use in the home, I like to use a few drops of lemon and grapefruit in a bowl of warm water to clean out the fridge and freezer.
Clean worktop surfaces with tea tree and lemon and make a natural air freshener spray with a plant spray with mineral water and add up to 20 drops of tea tree, orange, lemon, grapefruit and rosewood.
To keep moths at bay in your wardrobe put a few drops of patchouli oil onto cotton balls and wrap in muslin and hang in your cupboards.
To clean and deodorise carpets, mix rosewood, tea tree and lavender oils with some baking soda. Sprinkle onto your carpets and leave for 30 mins or longer then vacuum up well.
Clean pet beds and blankets with tea tree and lavender in a mineral water plant spray.
