THE coffee shop expansion on the island continues unabated with the latest Costa Coffee outlet opening its doors in Budaiya.
It is one of the first to open in the new Country Mall just off the highway near Saar and aims to provide a refreshing stop-over for residents, commuters and Saudi visitors. “The main reason for us to choose the name – Country Mall is because of the nature surrounding it. This is probably the only shopping zone in the kingdom with so many trees and greenery,” said Mohammed Riyadh, general manager. The three-storey mall is already the home of Jawad’s 24-hour supermarket and a pharmacy and other outlets are likely to announce their arrival in the coming weeks. By that time the coffee house aims to have established itself as a popular meeting place and is planning to launch a series of new promotions to keep curious customers satisfied. A list of new sandwiches will be introduced such as egg and mayo, breakfast panini as well as mozzarella, tomato and presto. The Frescato, an ‘ice cold indulgence’ of blended ice and various flavours such as summer fruits, chocolate, vanilla, watermelon, raspberry, lemon and white chocolate and the like is the latest addition to the coffee brand’s special summer attractions. “The drink was an instant hit with the customers and it is positively rocking,” said Pranay Upadhyay, multi-store manager for Costa Coffee Bahrain. Costa Coffee is also set to open new branches in Muharraq, Sakhir and plans a bigger one in September at the Bahrain Financial Harbour where it already has a kiosk. Presently the coffee house company boasts 29 stores and kiosks in Bahrain including three at the airport terminal.
