Last week I promised to tell you all about the Irish dancers who performed at Marti and Ian’s wedding, which I will shortly.

But also this week I’ve got a mystery that I hope you can help me with … Sounds intriguing? Well it is, but more about that later. Firstly, let’s go back to the wedding.
It was such a special day and as Marti hails from Ireland there simply had to be some traditional Irish dances and they were expertly performed by girls from the ‘Inis Ealga’ Dancers (Inis Ealga means the Island of the Swans).
The girls’ dance teacher, the amazing Dolores Brown, informed me that the dancers were going to perform for the lovely couple and their lucky guests, and explained that they would start with the ‘Treble Reel’, then follow with the ‘Two Hand Reel’, the ‘Three Tunes’ and finish off with the ‘Haymakers Jig’.
“Great!” I said.
Dolores then said that the music for the dances had all been burned onto one CD.
“Very professional” I thought.
But wait a minute.  When I looked at the CD closely I realised that the order of the music did not correspond to the dance order.
I queried Dolores and she replied that her husband had made a mistake with the recording;  so dance one was number four on the CD, dance two was number one, three was two and four was three!
“How very Irish,” I said.
But we managed it easily and her dancers - Orla McCarthy, Tara McCarthy, Isabel Gilbert, Jessica Sellers, Ellie Yates, Scarlett Robinson, Nadia Al Haq and Holly Greneveld came on and performed beautifully.
Their dancing was an absolute delight to watch.
I’d also like to give a special “well done” to my other coordinator, Jim Lawless for setting things up so wonderfully.
He did such a good job that I played his favourite tune ‘Dancing Queen’ just for him later.
Now, onto my ‘mystery’…
My wife Wendy told me a couple of weeks ago that she had glimpsed a ‘creature’ of some kind in our little garden.
She described it as “a bit like a medium-sized marsupial; with grey, evenly-spotted fur and a snout like face”.  Of course I believed her…Not!  I thought she was either hallucinating or had seen some weird kind of cat, dog, or rat and I reckoned she probably needed a decent night’s sleep.
But then two days ago I was getting into my new telegulf car, when lo and behold, standing right in front of me was this extremely, strange animal.
How can I describe it?
It was the size of a small Dachshund, but grey with spots and had a very peculiar fluffy tail (Wendy insists it was more of a ‘tuft’) and watching it walk, well, it kind of trotted!
So, can anybody out there put us out of our misery and tell us what kind of creature the ‘Mysterious Monster of Makaba Gardens’ is?
I’m really hoping that someone else out there has seen it and actually knows what it is, because it has us both flummoxed.
Until next week, keep happy.
All my love
