AN inspirational drama featuring the tales of four young women is set to be filmed in the kingdom and may provide the encouragement to help young Bahrainis kick-start their future careers.
It is hoped the charismatic lead characters that set up their own car-washing venture will help harness entrepreneurial spirit on the island. The film, as yet unnamed, will be the fourth home production by film-maker Bassam Al Thawadi. It will be produced by the Bahrain Film Production Company and will be shot in Bahrain for approximately BD 250,000. The story tackles the problems faced by the young people of Bahrain today. Written by well-known script writer Hamad Shahabi, the film revolves around the lives of four young women who come together to forge a new way of life. Mr Thawadi said: “All the lead characters, who happen to be young girls, are seeking stability in their lives. “One of the girls is a graduate with an abusive step father, the second has been unsuccessfully seeking jobs in the government and private sector, the third is a cashier who gets fired for minor mistakes and the fourth who has recently quit her job. The girls meet coincidentally and come together to form a car wash company. “The film’s message is to tell the young people of Bahrain to do something different, to not wait for the government and not be afraid of starting from scratch. The film has its share of romance and heartaches as the movie develops. “The emotions that are associated with being in love are very strong. And I will be playing with them in my movie. I believe that you need love to succeed. It gives an individual a purpose especially when your heart beats faster - whether it is for your family, girlfriend or children,” he added. Cinema goers can look forward to four new faces in this film, the auditions for which are taking place now. Mr Thawadi is looking for confident and photogenic actors who can present themselves well. The director and cinematographer have not been decided upon as yet.
