Game based on Hindu epic
Sony Online Entertainment said it is teaming up with Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Comics to launch a massive multiplayer online video game, based on comic book series Ramayan 3392 A.D., initially for the PC.
Ramayan 3392 A.D. is based on the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Sony Online Entertainment is a part of Sony Computer Entertainment America, a division of global electronics maker Sony Corp.
Halo 3 pre-orders soar
Microsoft said orders ahead of the official launch of the fast-paced shooter video game Halo 3 exceeded one million in North America, breaking pre-order records in the video game industry.
Halo 3, the third version of its flagship game franchise in which players assume the role of futuristic soldiers fighting an alien army, is set for release on September 25 for Microsoft's game console Xbox 360.
Speed Racer returns to gaming
Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment announced that it is developing Speed Racer games for the Wii, DS, and PlayStation 2, all based on Larry and Andy Wachowski’s upcoming feature film based on the franchise.
The Wachowskis are providing assets and direction to the development team. The PS2 edition will be timed to coincide with the DVD release of the film.
