The Hawar Islands are a holiday hotspot in our own backyard and comprise 16 islands located 20km off the coast of Bahrain.


Hawar Islands measure 50.6 sq km and are now part of the Southern Governorate. The main island is 40 sq km.

The islands make up the biggest wildlife reserve in the Kingdom helping to preserve many endangered species. It has the second highest population of Dugongs in the world and has the only remaining nesting colony of the Socotra Cormorant in the Gulf.
