PASSENGERS flying premium class with Gulf Air are now able to savour the flavour of Bahrain’s first and only chocolate factory Dutch Delight.

Over the last two years, Ali Rashid and Marjo Rashid-Stals have been creating authentic Belgian chocolate for customers across the kingdom and were featured on the cover of GulfWeekly last month.
Marjo said: “The response from your readers has been wonderful and everyone seems to know about us now – and with the Gulf Air contract we are really flying high!”
Taking its premium class onboard catering to greater heights, Gulf Air, the five-times-in-a-row winner of the SkyTrax ‘Best Onboard Catering Award for First Class’, has just introduced the couple’s delicious to its award-winning First Class menu.
A select range of hand-made premium chocolates will be served onboard for First Class passengers from now on under an exclusive arrangement.
“Gulf Air has carved a niché for itself in onboard fine-dining by introducing refreshingly innovative service concepts and products,” says Gulf Air executive vice-president marketing and sales, Lee Shave.
“We understand well our premium passengers, who not only have discerning tastes and but also expect certain exclusivity when travelling with us.
“The chocolate range produced by Ali and Marjo, who were trained in Holland in chocolate-making, fits this bill.
They have recreated the European chocolate-making art with a Middle Eastern finesse right here in Bahrain. Besides, as the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air is proud to support this unique local venture.”
Passengers can indulge in some of the unique and exotic couverture chocolate combinations, developed and perfected by the couple, such as Zanzabil ginger, Muhallabiah, Caramel delight and Hazelnut cream.
“We are proud to be a supplier to Gulf Air’s First Class cabin service, which has set an industry standard for onboard service,” added Ali Rashid from his Hidd base.
“We use the finest quality ingredients sourced from Switzerland and other European countries and personally create our combinations to ensure our chocolates provide a long-lasting experience to Gulf Air customers.”
