Dear Stan,
Please can anyone tell me why cottage cheese is so terribly expensive in Bahrain? Do people not like it? Is it too difficult to produce?
I have yet to find a store that carries it for less than BD1.600 for a small little single serving container. Many stores do not carry it at all.
Having come from Canada converting that into Canadian dollars and shopping in one of our markets I would be buying close to two litres of cottage cheese at home for that price. Am I missing something?

Dear Stan,
With reference to GulfWeekly July 25 – it was reported that if ladies come across any sort of indecent behaviour as they walk on the streets of the kingdom they can contact the police.
But will the police only react if someone contacts them?
In the past few weeks many people have complained about the residential area in Naim with visual proof of problems.
How come the Bahrain police ignore this area completely?
Some residents have been compelled to move. Why can’t police carry out 24-hour patrols in such special cases?
I happen to be a person who respects women. I cannot bear to see such indecent behaviour occurring in such a beautiful country like Bahrain.
Shabir, a concerned expat,
Bahrain.
