Corporate champions NIC Homes, BMMI, Gulf Air and Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) are supporting Think Pink’s gala evening auction on October 26 as platinum sponsors of the event.

“We’re ecstatic that they are supporting us,” said Think Pink founder Jules Sprakel. “They’ve been with us since the inception of Think Pink in 2005 and we’re looking at them as long-term platinum sponsors.”

Claire Pollard, corporate communications manager of BMMI, said: “We are honoured to support Think Pink and the events organised throughout the year. It’s a charity that crosses all nationalities, ages and sexes.

“By spreading awareness and educating people about ways to detect this disease at an early stage, Think Pink helps to save lives. BMMI encourages all women to receive regular check ups at a Well Women’s Clinic or check themselves at home for early signs of breast cancer.”

Neil D’Silva, chairman of NIC Homes, said: “Cancer isn’t new but it hasn’t a hidden agenda in every home. A campaign that educates local people that breast cancer can affect men and women is excellent. We take pride in being part of this. Our staff will be wearing pink ribbons for the whole month of October.”

Head of marketing at Gulf Air, Peter Rothel, said: “This is a charity we need to support because in this region breast cancer is not talked about enough. It’s a worthwhile charity in everyway. A lot of people know someone who has suffered from breast cancer and one way of tackling it is through awareness. We’re offering our long-term support and commitment.”

BIC marketing and PR manager Samer Al Shaikh said: “The event will be a wonderful evening.”
