'Get Reel' is set to perform at the Dilmun Club in Saar on November 29. The band consists of seven musicians including Miriam Morrissey (vocals, manager), Joyce Riley (violinist), Geraint Hughes (whistle/recorder/harp), David Fuglie (acoustic guitar, vocals), Patrick Caulfield, (accordian, vocals and Irish traditional dancer), Mark McFarlane (bass, backup soundman) and Mark Wootton (drums).
Five of the seven members all work for Saudi Aramco, Dhahran, KSA. They play a variety of styles of music from Irish Traditional Celtic music mixing old traditional sounds with a current tempo and rhythm, Bluegrass, Cajun, Country and Contemporary to name but a few.
The band has also been invited to participate in the Qatar bid for the 2016 Olympics. The event will also have the performance of a women dance group - 'DesertDance' all expatriate working for Saudi Aramco. For more information email getreelband@yahoo.ie.
