Dear Stan,I would like to thank you for the wonderful articles written by Shilpa Chandran and Asma Salman about our new executive chef and our Ladies Spa. My hats off to your photographer T. Andrew Morton for the wonderful image.

Keep up the good work!

Dear Stan,

This is in reply to last week's letter written by Shailaja.

She does not seem to understand that the shopping list that is undertaken by Shilpa's list is merely a look at the prices and not an economic price variance analysis of items being sold in the supermarkets.

The shopping list just mentions "consumers, these are the prices that you can expect when you visit one of the supermarkets in the kingdom". That is all.

Nowhere in the list does she or GulfWeekly mention or advise customers to go to a particular supermarket for purchasing.

I think Shailaja should rather appreciate the work being done by Shilpa rather than ridiculing her because I am sure a lot of people in this kingdom will have a glance at the prices and make their purchases.

Dear Stan,

It is not Shilpa's Shopping List which is ridiculous, but Shailaja's rant last week.

Al Jazira has had the august honour of staying consistently on top of Shilpa's list and the average price differential between the lowest and the highest-priced stores has been of the order of roughly 20 per cent which is preposterous.

I am sure Al Jazira will very soon be joining the on-going drop the price competition between Lulu and Geant. Shilpa, keep up the good work.
