THE 2008 Middle East Jeep Roadshow will celebrate the launch of the latest addition to the expanded Jeep range - the all-new Jeep Cherokee.

Ahmed Zayani and Behbehani Brothers, the distributors of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles in Bahrain, have joined forces to help stage the event on April 10 and 11 at Seef Mall.

"We wanted to celebrate the launch of the all-new 2008 Jeep Cherokee with something really special - something that would give customers the perfect opportunity to see the capability of this superb new Jeep," said Khurshid Abbasi, marketing manager, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge at Ahmed Zayani.

"The Cherokee is the most anticipated new Jeep since the Wrangler was unveiled last year and the Middle East Jeep Roadshow was the perfect way to showcase the vehicle and fully demonstrate the Jeep experience to the many thousands of enthusiasts in the kingdom."

Having started off in Muscat in February, the Jeep Roadshow comprises of a specially-created Jeep tour bus and a team of highly-trained staff and drivers who will cover nearly 100,000 kilometres over 85 days as the event once again visits 11 key cities in eight countries across the Middle East.

"This is without doubt one of the most highly anticipated new models of recent times, and, as the Wrangler has always blazed a trail no other vehicle can follow, we created the unique roadshow concept that will perfectly enable us to fully demonstrate the Jeep experience to the many thousands of Jeep enthusiasts across the whole of the Middle East," said Alex Minasian, brand manager - Chrysler, Jeep & Dodge at Behbehani Brothers.

Totally new from the ground up, the new Jeep Cherokee remains true to its legendary 4x4 heritage while offering customers more on-road refinement and amenities. Taking on Jeep's popular rugged exterior design, it also now comes with the all-new Selec-Trac II full-time four-wheel-drive system as standard.

The Jeep Roadshow event in Bahrain will entertain visitors with activities for both parents and kids - there are also great Jeep gifts and giveaways. The programme of activities also includes specially developed demonstrations of the Jeep Cherokee's legendary off road capability, with professional drivers putting the vehicle through its paces on demanding test tracks that have been created especially for the roadshow.

"We see this as the perfect way to celebrate the addition of the exciting all-new Cherokee to the Jeep line-up as well as giving Jeep enthusiasts the chance to see and experience the entire Jeep vehicle range," added Mr Minasian.

The road show gives visitors the opportunity to experience the uniqueness of the Jeep brand that has seen it gain cult status all over the world. After three events in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the roadshow will move on to Kuwait, Lebanon and Jordan, where it will showcase the entire Jeep line-up, the main highlight in each country being a live demonstration of the "go anywhere, do anything" capability of the Cherokee.

By the end of 2007, the Jeep brand line-up had expanded from three models to seven - the most available to retail consumers at any time in Jeep's long history. "No other automotive manufacturer in the world has the breadth of range of sport-utility vehicles that Jeep now offers," added Mr Abbasi.

The Jeep line-up in the Middle East includes, in addition to the all-new Cherokee, the Patriot, Wrangler, Wrangler Unlimited, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Commander.
