A pioneering Bahrain-based company is developing air-cooling solutions that protect the environment.

Tabreed Bahrain - Bahrain District Cooling Company BSC, a joint venture company owned by Tabreed, Esterad and AA Bin Hindi, is a pioneer in energy efficient gas-fired and electric-powered district cooling solutions.

"We feel securing such solutions is very important, most specifically in warm countries. The depletion of the ozone layer due to CFC emissions and other types of chlorinated refrigerants is a major issue that has been a key driver behind international growth in district cooling. The system promises an alternative energy efficient and environmentally sound method of cooling buildings," explained a company spokesman.

The company has developed an integrated energy system devised to help customers optimise their energy usage and reduce power and maintenance costs.

The company's client solutions include providing environmentally-friendly and innovative cooling solutions which respond effectively to the customer's needs, requirements and expectations.

"We ensure efficient and continuous quality services, contributing to the growth of the kingdom - both socially and economically, developing team spirit through a productive, motivated work force," said the spokesman.

"We ensure and enhance the financial prosperity of our shareholders and adopt the use of well-developed and sophisticated technologies to optimise environmental and energy-saving benefits."

Established in October 2004, Tabreed has since grown to a world-class company offering district cooling services across the Gulf region. Its offices span across GCC countries including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman.

Tabreed provides district cooling services throughout Bahrain with operations in Seef, Busaiteen, Juffair and the Diplomatic Area. Tabreed's projects include the Bahrain World Trade Centre, Bahrain Financial Harbour and Reef Island.

Tabreed has won several accolades including four honours at the International District Cooling Conferences in Abu Dhabi in 2004 and in Arizona, US in 2006, Global Partner honour, the global Pioneer accolade from the International District Energy Association and the Shaikh Khalifa Excellence award in 2007.
