Improve lives of youngsters

Let me share an experience both my twin and my father had last week. Both of them headed themselves down to the national stadium to watch and support our boys' football team against the Japanese football team.

The stadium was buzzing with anticipation and excitement for this crucial match. However, during the game my brother informed me of something other than football that caught my attention.

We noticed that information being on the national stadium's fences and advertisement boards were filled with Japanese products and words. This bothered me.

A couple of weeks ago I spoke of the importance of why we as kids and youngsters need to spread awareness of the things we care and are of importance to us.

Instead of advertising and promoting products, why don't we promote the things that will improve the lives of the young people of Bahrain?

However, the way the system works is not helping us, Bahraini and expatriates alike, to showcase what we really want. I mean it is ok for the Bahraini football association if they want to make profit in promoting Japanese products and slogans, but we all need to get up as a nation in order to bring Bahrain to the world's attention, and I believe that to be able to do that we must start with the youngsters.

Come on Bahrain, I know that there must be at least one hot-shot business person that is sitting and reading this paper and thinking "you know what, this kid must just have a point".

That is all I have to say for this week, until next time then....
