"What an amazing weekend this has been for everyone concerned," said Bahrain International Circuit chief executive officer Martin Whitaker.
"A full schedule of races that ran like clockwork - thanks in no small part to everyone at the Bahrain Motor Federation and the Bahrain Marshals' Club. The fifth Grand Prix to have taken place in the Middle East was another blockbuster, and so extraordinarily close to drawing 100,000 fans over the three days.
"The entertainers provided top-notch music and performances throughout the weekend, the Ferrari display was simply stunning and the races themselves were full of intrigue and excitement. Each year I wonder how on earth we can top that - and tomorrow we shall start planning to make 2009 even bigger and better."
