BAHRAIN'S Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa won the season-ending race in the Lumina CSV Championship Middle East on Sunday at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

Shaikh Hamad, driving for Peak Performance and starting fifth on the grid, clinched the eight-lap event, which was a support race for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, in 20 minutes 16.885 seconds. He was fastest at 127.357 kmph and clocked a best lap of 2:30.275.

The win was his second of the season, which he ended in third place on the drivers' championship behind Saudi Arabia's Abdulaziz Al Yaeesh and Fahad Al Musalam of Lechner Racing Bahrain.

Musalam clinched fourth place, 7.609 seconds off the winner. Behind Shaikh Hamad was Ahmed Hamada of Egypt Racing Team, 3.221 seconds adrift, while Yaeesh of UMA P1-AFR team took third 6.738 seconds behind despite starting from the back of the grid.

Only 13 participants took part in the 43.050 km event, which featured two non-finishers. Along with his title, Musalam took home the championship's grand prize of a whole day test-drive with Garry Rogers Motor Sport of the V8 Supercars Australia.
