Bahrain take on Asia's finest in cricket contest

The 14-member strong cricket squad selected by the Bahrain Cricket Association has flown off to take part in the Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite competition to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ten teams are expected to participate in this prestigious tournament which includes teams from UAE, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Nepal, Singapore, Qatar and Kuwait.

Bahrain is also planning to play a practice match today. The final is on August 3.

Following are the members selected to represent the Bahrain National Cricket Team.

The Team:

Fahad M Aref M_Sadeq (captain), Mirza Azeem ul Haque, Mirza Ashraf Yaqoob, Malik Muhammad Akmal, Muhammad Yaqoob Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Ashraf Mughal, Mohammad Tahir Dar, Halal Abbasi Mohammad Boota, Qamar Saeed, Imran Sajjad, Mirza Rizwan Baig, Abdul Waheed, Chaudhry Haroon Zafar and Dharmesh Kumar.

Reserve Players:

Asghar Abdul Majeed, Waheed Malik Mushtaq, Omran Ghani, Shafiq Ahmed and Vivek Subramania

Management:

Mohammed Ali Abul (President - BCA_Executive Committee), M H M Sadeq (Manager) and Mukhtar Ahmed Yousuf (Coach).

Bahrain won the ACC Middle East Cup in 2006.
