Excited shoppers have been pouring into the partially-opened City Centre to check out the outlets, some of which are new to the island.
Everyone is feeling the buzz and the excitement is palpable even among the tenants of the mega mall.
"Majid Al Futtaim has introduced a winning concept in the form of Bahrain City Centre and I'm sure that once it is fully operational it will rank as one of the best in the region. We had already finalised our tenancy at the mall three years ago at the time when the project was announced," said Rodolphe Melki, country manager of Azadea Group.
Azadea Group has launched 20 outlets including Zara, Promod, Virgin Megastore, Bershka, Masimo Dutti, Zara Home and Prenatal, to name but a few, at the new complex and an additional five are soon to follow.
Mr Melki added: "The City Centre has opened new doors and added a new dimension to shopping on the island.
"We are expecting an amazing response from our outlets at City Centre. Although our collections are the same, the shop fitting and design of the retail outlets are just amazing which is a major attraction for shoppers and an added advantage for us."
The countdown to opening was hectic for both tenants and mall management as they scrambled to put everything in order. But Mr Melki has been pleased with the result and the footfall at Azadea's numerous outlets has proved that it has been a good business decision.
"Crowds will initially come to City Centre out of curiosity, then due to the beauty and concept of the mall and, of course, what the stores have to offer to them."
