Experience the pleasure of walking through 14,000 sqm of fragrant and luscious floral and herbal gardens when Bahrain's biggest lifestyle and garden show, the Riffa Views Bahrain International Garden Show (RVBIGS), transforms the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIEC) into an indoor paradise for garden and horticulture enthusiasts for three days in spring commencing April 24, 2009.

Water for Life, the theme for RVBIGS 2009, will explore the theme of water as it relates to the history of horticulture and agriculture in Bahrain.

Exhibits on display will include the ancient techniques used by the inhabitants of Bahrain to utilise fresh water springs and grow the plants and gardens which the islands were famous for since ancient times.

The show will also examine water and its essentiality to everyday life and exhibit the most recent research relating to water treatment and preservation.

This prestigious annual event will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad and will be open to the public and trade visitors. An opening ceremony for VIPs will be held at BIEC's Convention Centre on April 23, 2009.

Over the years, RVBIGS has evolved into a national hallmark event with Her Highness Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and president of the Supreme Council for Women, as one of its staunchest supporters since it was first launched as Bahrain Garden Fair five years ago.

RVBIGS 2009 will serve as the meeting point for high-level regional and international buyers, gardening and horticulture suppliers, commercial delegations, diplomats, environmental organisations and their advocates and regional farmers.

Indoor exhibits will also be segmented according to subject profile in order to improve traffic flow and deliver greater impact.

These will encompass, but will not be limited to, flowers, plants and trees; swimming pools and equipment, garden technology, lighting and furniture, fertilisers, landscaping equipment and tools, ornamental metalwork, paving stones, irrigation systems, sprinklers, seeds and seedlings, children's playground equipment, aqua culture, Jacuzzis, spas and hot tubs, greenhouses and garden sheds, awnings and canopies, ponds and barbeque and grill equipment.

Water technology exhibits promoting environmental sustainability in the region will be a key feature of RVBIGS 2009

Bahrain's finest and most anticipated garden and horticultural event would not be complete without floral competitions to showcase the creative talents of the industry and networking opportunities with experts who can offer extensive advice and solutions. It is the ideal forum for technological exchange, meeting new contacts, and closing sales with buyers and sellers from all over the world.

Exhibitors who are participating in RVBIGS 2009 are already confirmed from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Sri Lanka and the US.

There will more participants from other countries in the months to come following an aggressive global sales and marketing campaign undertaken by the Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA)_team.

RVBIGS is organised and supported by Shaikha Sabeeka, Ministry of Industry and Commerce and BECA with Giardina Zurich as the international strategic marketing partner.
