Thursday (Nov 20) Bahrain's Irish community is hosting the annual 'Bahrain Irish Festival 2008' from today until Saturday at the JJ's Irish Restaurant in Adliya. It will feature a ballad session by Decland and Fermanagh, also known as 'Pure Irish Craic'. The event starts at 9pm. For details visit www.bahrainirishsociety.com.

Friday (Nov 21)

Tollywood Star Night will be held at The Indian School Bahrain grounds. The event is held as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Telugu Kala Samiti.

The Riffa Views Bahrain Rugby Football Club is hosting the Etihad Gaelic Games from 10am to 5pm. A special kids' Gaelic Games exhibition match will also be played at the same venue. Irish bands from five countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Ireland alongside Bahrain will entertain the crowds with traditional Irish music as well as pop and rock songs. The Indian Ladies (ILA) is hosting the Workers Welfare Day at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam's Diamond Jubilee Hall in Segaiya. The event titled 'Amidst Sharing_Hum Saath Saath Hai' will welcome nearly 2,000 workers from various labour camps of Bahrain. The evening will feature cultural and talent programmes alongside dinner. Award-winning Indian classical singer Sudha Raghunathan will perform at the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) hall in Juffair.

She will be accompanied by violinist Embar S Kannan who has been a part of renowned maestro IIlayaraja's orchestra since 1991 and mridangam player Skanda Subramaniam who has performed with leading musicians in India and abroad since 1986. The Bahrain Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will stage a 'dog walk' fund-raising event starting at 11am. The walk will cover 4km of the society's new site at Askar. The event will feature a fun day out for the family with barbecue, popcorn, goodie bags, prizes, bouncy castle and more. Moroccan artist Hakim Ghazali will exhibit his work at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya. His artwork displays contemporary images painted upon old Moroccan doors.
