The Filipino Club in cooperation with FC Sayaw Unlimited will host the Ms Philippines Bahrain 2008 competition at the Gilgamesh Hall in the Golden Tulip Hotel, Manama. The show will begin at 7pm. Proceeds of the event will go to the Bahrain society for children with communication and behavioural difficulties (Alia) and the distressed workers in OWWA centre. TaBu Nightclub at the Phoenicia Tower Hotel in Hoora will host a Red and White Party. A contest to select the 'Best Homemade Chocolate Dessert' will be held at Seef Mall in Manama as part of the Maya Chocolate festival organised by Maya La Choclaterie through the month of December with items including cupcake decorations, chocolate moulding and chocolate fountains. A percentage of the revenues will be donated to autism centres in the kingdom including Alia for Early Intervention, RIA and the Al Wafa Centre. For details contact 17583683.

A book festival will be held by the Northern Municipal Council at its premises in Budaiya from today until December 26 offering affordable books to support charity.

English as well as Arabic language second-hand books will be available and will be sold at prices ranging from 100 fils to BD1.

The proceeds will be allocated to low-income families and orphans in the Northern Governorate.

Desi Vibezzz Party will be held at Club Maxxim, Adliya from 10pm featuring Indian music producer DJ Amyth alongside Maxxim resident DJ Richie Kidd and Dubai-based DJ Ruvan.

Tickets are priced at BD4 for ladies, BD7 for men and BD10 couples. Ladies' entry is free before 10.30pm.

NightShift Entertainment is celebrating its one year anniversary with the Desilicious pre-Christmas party at Club Seven at the Mishal Hotel, Hoora.

It will feature DJ Notorious from Mumbai and DJ Shadow from the Kandy Club, Dubai.

For an RnB treat, guests can choose to move upstairs to Level where DJ Mild will provide entertainment.
