Batelco's top man in Bahrain has been promoted to become group chief executive.
At Kick-off 2009, a gathering of the telecommunications company's staff to look at achievements over the last year and goals for the coming one, it was announced that Peter Kaliaropoulos will take on the new role as part of a transformation of the business across the region.
Danish national Gert Rieder will take over the role of CEO Bahrain in April.
Mr Kaliaropoulos urged all staff to continue with their commitment to achieving the company's goals and highlighted Batelco's key priorities as part of the Expand 2010 strategy which aims to double the size of Batelco's business and reach 10,000,000 customers across 10 countries by 2010.
