Bahrain's position as a regional training hub will be under the spotlight in the global arena at a conference being held in Canada from October 19-23.

"A delegation from the Bahrain Society of Training & Development (BSTD) comprising of Human Resources Development professionals and academicians is heading for the 38th CSTD & International Federation of Training & Development (IFTDO) World Conference & Trade Show under the theme People, Knowledge, Performance," stated BSTD international relations director Gopika Beri.

Human resource & training professionals are being urged to join CSTD and IFTDO for five days of learning, engaging and networking with training and development professionals from Canada and around the globe! Current challenges in the airline industry will be examined from a Middle Eastern perspective by Bahraini speaker Ahmed M Al Banna, chief people officer, Gulf Air.

"It is a matter of great pride for BSTD & Bahrain that Alba's experience in team building through the implementation of 'Smart Centre' (a concept initiated by Alba chief operating officer Mohammed Mahmood) in regional and international conferences was awarded as the best entry and shall be presented the first prize out of many entries. Bahrain's flag will be flying high at this prestigious Canadian conference," said Ms Beri.

The global conference in Toronto will link HR professionals from diverse countries, HR societies, corporations, universities, ministries and facilitate sharing of knowledge and experiences on best practices, Ms Beri said.

Special packages and special fares on Gulf Air are on offer for BSTD members and Bahrain delegates to facilitate their participation at the IFTDO.
