Betsy's wellness diet plan

Here is Betsy's simple suggestion for a daily menu to help you on the road to wellness:

Breakfast

Slice of wholewheat toast with a poached egg.

Glass of cranberry juice.

Green or black tea with skimmed milk.

Snack

Green apple, skin on.

Lunch

Mixed green salad dressed with lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper.

Grilled chicken breast.

Banana.

Snack

Six walnuts, six almonds, unsalted, green tea or coffee, skimmed milk.

Dinner

Steamed broccoli and carrots.

Fillet of fish, (salmon, hammour etc) wrapped in tin foil and baked in the oven with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic, lemon juice and a little olive oil.

Bowl of fresh berries.

If you find you can't live without salt then you can buy a salt substitute in the supermarket and try using fresh or dried herbs and spices to give your food more flavour.

Just let me remind readers to always consult their doctor before making any drastic dietary or lifestyle changes.

Begin this new regime now and just think how much better you will look and feel as you greet 2010!
